Janus

Janus

It's great fun to browse among YouTube videos, but it's not so fun once you've fallen into YouTube Abyss. That's the zone where nearly all of the 'related' videos are pointless, despite incredibly high view-counts. If only you could see the like/dislike bar before clicking on the thumbnail ...

Now you can, with Janus, a FireFox add-on. Janus adds a like/dislike bar under YouTube video thumbnails. Now you can skip the junk, and get back to enjoying your video browsing!

Iolar

Iolar chess board

Iolar is a 6DoF 3D engine written in pure Java 1.1, for use as an applet anywhere. The idea was to avoid requiring the user to download anything at all and still offer 3D apps.

The forward march of technology passed me by (again). Truly elegent 2D games made 3D seem unnecessary. Then came the Java3D extention. Today, common browser app players support 3D. Even JavaScript supports 3D now.

As a result, Iolar is on hold. However, a demo page is available, and the demo page with source code is available for download.

imaputil

imaputil

imaputil is a toolkit for dealing with IMAP mailstores. imaputil can report on mail accounts and mail messages, report sizes, extract and insert messages into an account, handle mailbox (folder) subscriptions, transfer messages or whole accounts from one mailstore to another, fingerprint messages (e.g., for post-xfer comparison), and wipe accounts and messages clean.

The current version is v1.5.2, and is available for download. The code has not been updated since 2005, but still continues to serve me well in those situatons when I need to perform low-level operations on an IMAP mail account.

Aiden

Aiden

Aiden is a software project that has warranted a great deal of design work and has yielded not a single line of code as of yet.

This is definitely a project where the up-front work is the bulk of the effort.

The long-term goal is an anti-spam application.
